Shields can be equipped in the offhand and are used to block both ranged and melee (non-magic) attacks. Eventhough the shield names include a race, any hero race can equip any shield.
Shields can give buffs to 3 attributes: Health, Block Time and Armor. Higher tier shields can also give perks.
